early as 1940, Giovanni Batista (GB) Russo served Pizza in the Roma
Hall on South Division in Grand Rapids, MI
In 1953 GB Russo’s son Frank
opened the 1st Pizzeria in Grand Rapids, MI
Can you imagine how exciting that must have been?! People still
reminisce about their very 1st slice of pizza being from
Russo’s!
The Family business eventually ended up in the hands of GB Russo’s
brother Joe Russo (he was also a popular drummer!) and Joe’s son
Frank G. Russo!
They moved the business to Michigan St and continued to serve the
best pizza in Grand Rapids!
After Years of serving delicious pizza and Italian food to West
Michigan connoisseurs,
Frank G. passed the pizza paddle to his cousin Michael Russo in
1989!
Mike relocated the business to 44th st and Burlingame in
the Chateau Centre and continues to make the finest hearth baked
pizzas West Michigan has to offer!
